Can I connect speakers to my TV?
Yes, almost all our loudspeakers can be connected to a TV. Our soundbars are connected using an HDMI cable.
Other loudspeakers can also be connected, but often require an additional device such as a BeoConnect Core or Almando decoder. For more information, please contact us.
My wireless speakers are not working properly on my Wi-Fi (mesh) network. How can this be?
More and more homes are equipped with a mesh Wi-Fi network. This ensures good coverage throughout the house and
is ideal for smartphones, tablets, and laptops. However, in practice, we observe that
wireless Wi-Fi speakers on a mesh network sometimes function less effectively.
This doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the speakers or the mesh network. It's because both systems handle Wi-Fi differently.
How does a mesh network work?
A mesh network consists of multiple Wi-Fi access points that together form a single wireless network. Devices automatically switch to the Wi-Fi access point with the strongest signal as you move through the house.
This is ideal for mobile devices.
Why are Wi-Fi speakers different?
Wi-Fi speakers are designed to have a constant and stable connection. When playing music, multiple speakers must also operate in exact synchronization.
A mesh network constantly tries to optimize devices by potentially switching them to another Wi-Fi access point or a different frequency. For a phone,
this is usually not a problem, but for a speaker, it can cause a brief interruption.
Possible symptoms
On a mesh network,
the following problems may occur:
- speakers disappear from the app;
- music stops or stutters;
- a speaker no longer plays in a group;
- delay between multiple speakers;
- a speaker unexpectedly reconnects;
- some speakers are sometimes visible and sometimes not.
These problems often occur irregularly, making it seem like there is no clear cause.
Why do we see this regularly?
In addition to the regular internet connection, Wi-Fi speakers also use special network protocols to find each other
and play synchronously.
Not every mesh network processes this communication in the same way. In addition, automatic functions such as:
- roaming;
- band steering (switching between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz);
- automatic channel optimization;
can cause a speaker's connection to temporarily change.
For mobile devices, this is an advantage, but for continuous music streaming, it can be detrimental.
So, is the mesh network bad?
No.
Mesh networks are excellent for general internet use such as:
- internet browsing;
- video calls;
- streaming movies;
- gaming;
- smartphones;
- tablets;
- laptops.
However, multiroom Wi-Fi speakers place different demands on a network than most other devices.
What can help?
Depending on the brand and type of network, various solutions are possible:
- connecting one or more speakers with a cable;
- cabling the mesh access points to each other;
- adjusting the placement of the mesh access points;
- disabling certain Wi-Fi optimizations;
- connecting the speakers to a fixed Wi-Fi access point if the system supports it;
- keeping the firmware of both the speakers and the mesh network up-to-date.
Not every solution is possible with every brand.
Our advice
When choosing wireless multiroom speakers, we advise you to take into account
your existing home network beforehand. Consider that Wi-Fi/internet has now almost become a primary necessity.
A good Wi-Fi network often does not come with the free options your provider offers.
Do you have a mesh network and are you experiencing disruptions? We would be happy to work with you to find the best solution. Sometimes a small adjustment is enough to significantly improve stability.
Our goal is for your audio system to work reliably so you can enjoy your music
without interruptions.
Can I use Bluetooth to stream music to the speakers?
Yes, almost all our speakers have Bluetooth. However, we recommend using the Wi-Fi network at home. This works more stably and offers higher audio quality. For portable speakers outside the home, Bluetooth is perfect to use.
The TV has lost its channels or needs to be re-tuned. How do I do this?
This depends on your provider. With Ziggo, you can have the TV re-scan for channels. You will need a frequency and network ID for this. These are 474.000 and 5555. Then, you can have the TV only search digitally.
If you have a different provider or watch via the internet, please contact us.
How can I improve the sound quality of my speakers?
To optimize the sound quality on your speakers, it is important to use a good streaming service with lossless quality, such as Deezer or Tidal. Speaker settings such as distance, volume, and tone also have an impact. Please contact us for further advice.
When will my order be delivered?
Did you place your order before 18:00 and is the product in stock?
Then your order will normally be delivered the next day. However, it is possible that PostNL is experiencing a high volume of deliveries. Therefore, keep an eye on the track and trace information sent to you. Do you have an urgent order? Please always contact us and we will see how we can arrange this as quickly as possible.
